Equipment and skid
Design and model equipment and skids with Inventor software.
Use Inventor to design and create more accurate digital prototypes for a wide variety of equipment and skid units such as pumping systems, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, and separators.
Routed systems
The Ultimate edition of PDS 2015 includes Inventor with Routed Systems 2015.
Use the software to more easily design routed elements, including tube, pipe, cable, and electrical harness runs when designing equipment and skids.
P&ID & piping
Fixed length pipe modeling
Route fixed length pipe more easily with new functionality in AutoCAD Plant 3D. PDS supports AWWA, BPE, and other piping catalogs.
Weight and center of gravity calculations
Use AutoCAD Plant 3D to calculate the center of gravity of individual piping components and combinations of piping components, including pipe lines and piping spools.
More quickly identify the location of Center of Gravity (COG) for piping components and networks and produce COG reports. View the center of gravity location in 3D as the properties display the x,y,z location, as well as the total weight of the selected components. You can also edit the COG location of individual components to allow for custom parts, such as extended valve operators, and produce COG reports in PDF, Excel, or HTML files.
Bill of Materials (BOM)
Create Bill of Materials (BOM) tables and linked annotation when creating orthographic drawings.
AutoCAD Plant 3D provides functionality to create bills of materials on piping orthographic drawings created from the 3D model. By selecting the view, you can customize a predefined BOM table to better comply with client standards, then place it anywhere on the drawing.
3D plant and pipe design
Experience modern 3D process plant modeling with AutoCAD Plant 3D software.
Create more accurate designs in less time with spec-driven piping and components. Use spec-driven technology and ANSI/ASME (B16) and DIN/ISO catalogs to help meet project requirements.
Create and manage P&IDs
Create, modify, and manage piping and instrumentation diagrams with AutoCAD P&ID.
Take advantage of faster piping—insert industry-standard symbols (PIP, ISA, JIS, ISO/DIN) or customized symbols into drawings. Access component and line information while you work.
Design, drafting, and plant layout
AutoCAD is included in every edition of PDS for general design, drafting, and plant layout design.
Isometric and orthographic documentation
Generate piping isometric and orthographic drawings and documentation with AutoCAD Plant 3D. Produce more accurate documentation throughout the process.
Raster-to-vector conversion
PDS includes AutoCAD Raster Design, so you can more easily use scanned paper drawings and similar raster data.
Incorporate design information from scanned drawings, maps, satellite images, aerial photos, and raster images, then convert them to DWG files.
Reality capture
Begin your design process in context from existing environments with ReCap.
ReCap delivers powerful workflows to create 3D data from laser scans and photos, enabling you to clean, organize, and visualize massive datasets more easily.
Project review & clash detection
Clash detection
Help identify interferences before construction by aggregating models and performing clash detection analysis in Navisworks Manage.
Design visualization
Use 3ds Max Design 3D visualization software to create high-impact 3D visuals and animations of process plants.
Faster project reviews
Combine structural, piping layout, and equipment models in Navisworks Simulate to support project constructability reviews.
Structural design
Model, analyze, and document structures with Revit Structure software.
Structural detailing
AutoCAD Structural Detailing is the version of AutoCAD software specifically for structural detailing and creating fabrication shop drawings.
Built on the familiar AutoCAD platform, AutoCAD Structural Detailing software helps improve design accuracy by providing tools that help automate the creation of concrete reinforcement drawings and enable efficient modeling of steel connections and shop drawings.
